TheSlowMusicMovement More on point, pointillism inspired, minimal ambient vibes from Zoltan Fecso on this all too short, hastily arranged, quickly improvised but lovingly crafted EP that is sounding great with the winter sunshine streaming through my windows.

about

Made one morning in a Sydney studio thanks to a cancelled recording session. I didn't have the equipment with me for making music in my usual way but I wanted to create something that day and not let the session go to waste.

I thought about the process of Pointillism, that the durations between the notes are the cause of variation and motion. Lately I've realised that I'm more interested in the process than the final product. I thought about how I could recreate my usual process using what was available in the studio.

Each instrument was recorded focusing on single notes and short melodies with plenty of silence in between. Time was not measured, but felt. There is no tempo, form or compositional narrative. Instead the harmonies and melodies form through the uncontrolled combination of single notes and short phrases.
